Community Mobilization

At IBU we focus on putting strategies in place, creating safe spaces, comfortable zones for LGBT youth to have access, learn and adopt safe sex practices – to stay free from HIV and its disastrous effects. We work in 14 districts of Uganda, train peer educators, build capacities of MSM and LGBT CSOs to create a strong platform for everyone to have an equal opportunity, voice, choice to access any service without fear of being marginalized be-cause of their sexual orientation.

Community Sundays

This is an initiative which brings together all LGBT community members and well-wishers to share experiences, network and have fun like playing games and watching inspirational LGBT theme movies and films. This happens every last Sunday of the month where LGBT community members come in a safe space for organizing and networking through activities like Movies, open forum discussions, capacity building, psychosocial support through peer education, counseling services where people usually leave with condoms and lubricants and also use the resource center
